LightCube

Goal: LightCube aims to inspire generations of young people by giving them an opportunity to interact with a satellite. People on the ground can make the cubesat visible from Earth by activating its lights using HAM radios. At the end of its lifetime, it will burn up as it enters Earth’s atmosphere.

Partners: Vega Space Systems, CETYS UNIVERSIDAD

Interplanetary Laboratory key contributions: We provide software engineering, subsystem integration and testing for the mission.  The Interplanetary Lab also provides engineering support to the gravity gradient, payload development, and communications subsystems and is where the LightCube will be manufactured.
