Exocam
Goal: The goal of ExoCam is two-fold. While videos of vehicles landing on other planets exist, none are views from the ground, making this a unique challenge. Thus, the first goal of this project is to provide footage of NASA vehicles landing on extraterrestrial surfaces taken from the ground. The second goal is to capture rocket exhaust plume data. Very little data exists on how regolith responds to rocket exhaust. Using the data from the Interplanetary Lab sensors, we will provide data to simulate regolith travel so that science missions can avoid collecting samples contaminated by vehicle exhaust.
Partners: Zandef Deksit Inc., Honeybee Robotics, Ecliptic Enterprises Inc.
Interplanetary Laboratory key contributions: We are designing and manufacturing the regolith particle measuring components for the project.
