A) Yes, it is a salaried plus benefits position that includes a moving and housing stipend.

Yes! We require all fellows to reside in the Tempe area for the duration of their fellowship. A moving and housing stipend is included, and our fellows have a designated desk or office space; access to basic office supplies; use of printers and other shared office equipment; an ASU sun card to access the office, University library, and other amenities; a designated staff contact (this does not include any administrative support); and if applicable access to II’s or other labs.  

We are looking for individuals in all relevant disciplines, who have either 1) earned a terminal degree in their field, or are 2) early career individuals currently practicing.

If appropriate and possible, we will support our fellows by lining up conversations/meetings with industry experts, and key ASU faculty and external partners.  Depending upon your interests and research, there may be speaking or workshop opportunities as well.  Fellows have the unique opportunity to provide biweekly updates of their work and progress directly to II leadership, sharing their ideas and challenges, and receiving constructive input and feedback.  Fellowships at the Interplanetary Initiative also frequently include the following privileges: a designated desk or office space; access to basic office supplies; use of printers and other shared office equipment; an ASU sun card to access the office, University library, and other amenities; a designated staff contact (this does not include any administrative support); and if applicable access to II’s or other labs.  

Fellows at the Interplanetary Initiative become a part of our team!  You are expected to attend major II meetings and events, and partake in informal discussions with faculty and/or grad students. If fitting and of interest, you are encouraged to give seminars or be a guest lecturer in classes.  You will be required to reside in or around campus, and to work in the office at least two days per week, during two weeks each month.  You will have the opportunity to provide biweekly updates of your work and progress directly to II leadership; sharing your ideas and challenges, while receiving constructive input and feedback.  We expect you to have your own laptop, equipment, IT accessories, cell phone, etc., and to complete any applicable training requirements.

Yes, absolutely! The Interplanetary Initiative is willing to sponsor an exchange visitor visa.
